On February 17, 2018, at Sonora Joes, we had our monthly Tuolumne County Mother Lode Storytelling Guild Open Telling. The theme was “Puppy Love,” and we had a very good attendance of eager listeners: 20-25 people. Dana, Kathy, and Claudia told a variety of tales, and Charley told a sad story of love lost – and a tribute to Maya the dog. My only wish is that there had been more people who wished to tell their stories. As it was, we wound down after 90 minutes. One or two more tellers would have been ideal. We got several new sign-ups for the list! We are thankful to receive donations from the audience.
Next open telling will be March 17 (St. Patricks Day!) from 4-6 pm. Angels Camp Open Telling (Story Swap) is on March 25 (and the last Sunday of every-other-month). Look for articles in the Weekender and Calaveras County Paper.
