Mariposa County Storytelling Committee is part of the Mariposa County Arts Council. After 30+ years of hosting the highly acclaimed Mariposa Storytelling Festival, the community decided to redirect their energies to bringing guest storytellers from around the nation and beyond to visit local schools. During their March Storytelling Week, they also host House Concerts with the guest tellers. Mother Lode Storytelling Guild serves Tuolumne and Calaveras Counties. Open tellings meet the 3rd Saturday of every month (January-September) at 4-6 pm in Tuolumne County at at Sonora Joe's Coffee Shoppe (140 S. Washington St., Sonora, CA). Story swap meets the last Sunday of every other month in Calaveras County at 4-6 pm at Manzanita Arts Emporium (1211 S Main St. Suite 110, Angels Camp, CA).
